Mother's Day sees us celebrating women in general and the beautiful things they bring to the world - and indeed bring into the world! This article in Viva features the women in a family I greatly admire. Renee and Damaris Coulter, their mother Nuku and Renee's daughter Awa - women at all stages of life - give so much in so many ways personally and through their restaurant Coco's Cantina. This is one family who will be making a big fuss and sharing lots of good food on Sunday, as should we all, and this week's recipes will help to do that.
Bake a carrot, orange and pistachio nut layer cake to share over a cup of something warm for morning or afternoon tea. Or open a bottle of something cold and crisp to serve with a round of caramelised onion and goat's cheese tarts. Make a pretty pink raspberry and rose and white chocolate tiramisu for dessert. For dinner, marinated chicken with zucchini and tiny crumbed pork meatballs with beans and tomatoes are Italian and flavour and perfect for enjoying family style.
