We came here because we were celebrating some good news and wanted to mark the occasion in style.
Parking was on the street.
We walked in and immediately thought... actually, we went right past it at first, it has a discreet facade on a residential street. Walking into the hotel foyer we were impressed with the chic, eclectic decor but wondered where we were supposed to head — until a man in a white shirt walked past and looked at us inquiringly. Um, yes, we had made a booking for breakfast.
We ordered the "Mollies breakfast" — sausages, eggs, bacon, tomato and potatoes — but not before helping ourselves to the continental buffet, a small assortment of cereals, lovely stewed and fresh fruit, and pastries. We held back to save room — there's only the one set price for breakfast which includes both cold and hot courses ($45 each). Our hot breakfast was worded seductively but what we got, while cooked well enough, was plain.
The most unusual thing on the menu was nothing — all pretty standard brunch fare. The service was a real let-down.
The coffee was the highlight. The best we've had in quite some time.
We recommend if you come here you lower your expectations.
Overall we thought the meal was over-priced and considering the awards the hotel has won, we were disappointed.
