From the label whose logo is two comfortable 60s-styled lounge chairs comes the third album of slinky world-meets-ambient cool from this Hanover duo, who assimilate plenty of Latin bounce and cool organ sounds into their appealing beat'n'groove style. You'd give up trying to note all the ingredients here: nu-lounge, trip hop, Brazilian beats, old soul, downbeat funk ... They now seem to call it drum'n'boogaloo — the title of a typically bouncy Latin-infected track here — which is as good a tag as any, but hardly explains the acoustic guitar strum which sets off the slightly louche So ma Guisee, the summery simmer of African Sunset with its horn section, loping bass and harmonica, or the 70s soul-funk of Gonna Be.
Whatever you call it, it feels as if it has been marinated in tropical cocktails, sunned under Caribbean skies and only requires a beach towel and suntan lotion as the perfect complement. Never knew Hanover was this humid.
