By MICHELE HEWTISON
Imagine a future where scientists are on the verge of discovering what happens at, and beyond, the moment of death. Where experiments into soul harvesting are sanctioned by the breakaway Catholic church led by the so-called Red Pope. Where a company with a name like an eyewash, Optrix, has transformed the world with the "first optical computer".
Lucifer is all dressed up in pseudo-science; a sexy female scientist and a sensitive male scientist are in a race to save the world from evil; the Red Pope is hell-bent on proving the existence of heaven or hell, and damn anyone who gets in his way. It pretends to pose a moral and spiritual dilemma, but it's really just a blockbuster movie script.
