"The name is Dogg, Arthur Dogg. Arthur C. Dogg to be exact. Special Investigator. Private Dick in a world without privacy. First generation Data Sleuth."
This might have seemed a good idea at the time. But somehow the template of the noir private eye grafted onto legitimate concerns about how our privacy can so easily be invaded by the data-mining operations of corporations doesn't work as good fiction, techno-warning or humour.
Reading other people's e-mails and personal files, whether real or fabricated, is boring. A novel idea, but not executed at all well, I'm afraid.
