We came here because this is the newest cafe on the Parnell strip, situated out the front of the Parnell Inn, with an appealing sign declaring "we are little".
Parking was easy enough on the street on a wet Sunday morning - guaranteed to be more difficult during the week or on a Saturday.
We walked in and immediately thought the owners have made the most of this petite space with three different areas including a courtyard built around a giant Norfolk pine.
The most unusual thing on the menu was Marmite mushrooms on toasted sourdough ($16) or maybe the chorizo, emmental cheese, and rocket sandwich with home-made tomato sauce and garlic aioli ($17).
We ordered a delicious bacon buttie with a big heap of streaky free-range bacon, avocado, rocket and saffron aioli ($17), standard poached eggs on toast ($11) and tasty honey-roasted muesli with orange blossom yoghurt and fresh fruit ($10).
The service was very sweet and polite, though the meals seemed to take a long time to arrive.
The coffee was great, and the best thing was that for every coffee you order, you roll to dice and if you get two sixes the coffee is free.
We recommend if you come here you check out the giant bunny made of felt on the back wall - one of the coolest pieces of decor we've seen in some time.
Overall we thought Little is a nice addition to Parnell, with a few quirks that make it stand out from the rest. It's only the slow service that let it down this time.
