Mum and dad say Lola is nearly quite big enough to go to school but Lola herself is not so sure.
"I am absolutely not big. I am still really quite small," she argues.
Even older sibling Charlie can't convince Lola that she would find school either useful or fun, as she counteracts all reasoning with her own brand of logic.
Lola feels that she can't possibly start school because her invisible friend, Soren Lorenson, would be lonely at home by himself.
"Well", says Charlie with great cunning, "Soren Lorenson will be going to school too. What will he do if he can't sit next to you?"
A delightfully friendly and understanding book about a small child facing a new and worrying experience.
