What she doesn't know is that Dad had another talk with me at home. Told me how difficult jobs are to find these days and how I have to do well at school. Or else. Huh! He hasn't even got a proper job himself so how come he thinks he knows everything. But that's when I noticed the tired look on Mum's face as she begged me to be a good boy, please Cameron, just for me? And I felt really guilty. So it's no wonder all I can do now is stare at the legs of my desk.
Ms Love looks serious. "Try to give it your best effort, will you Cameron."
Her voice sounds firm but she does give me a smile. I reckon Ms Love could be a model or a TV star if she tried. I don't know why she bothers being a teacher.
" Now, IDEAS, please," she says as she moves on.
