There will probably be a flood of books to celebrate, commemorate or lay the ground for the visit here of the Dalai Lama at the end of May.
This strikes me as a very good one: it's basic and highly accessible, introducing the teachings of Buddhism and the mysterious character who is the leader-in-exile of Tibet.
It speaks in language we can all understand about the search for happiness, compassion, and the need to find a form of spiritual expression that is right for you.
