We came here because it's years since we visited and it used to be excellent. Just wanted to make sure it still is.
Parking was just outside.
We walked in and immediately thought well, it hasn't changed at all. Family-friendly and well-spaced tables are all clean and tidy, but the cafe could do with a spruce-up.
The most unusual thing on the menu was the omelette special with onion jam, Kransky sausage and cheese ($18.90).
We ordered the omelette, and a Trifecta ($16.40), a choice of three items from the Big Frolic ($20.90). The omelette was excellent, the slightly sweet jam setting off the spicy sausage and the eggs set but not solid. The Trifecta of poached eggs, bacon and hash browns came with two different sorts of toast, which was good. More butter would have been nice.
The service was friendly, if a little slow. But we were warned there would be a bit of a wait, because of the crowd.
The coffee was hot, strong and prompt. We recommend if you come here try for a seat outside if the weather is clement, and watch the lambs in One Tree Hill Domain across the road - frolicking.
Overall we thought the prices are right up there for a suburban cafe, but the food is plentiful and well-cooked and presented. It's still a good place.
