KEY POINTS:
On a very cold night in the central city, a small crowd assembled in an indoor carpark for the unveiling of the newest member of the Mercedes-Benz family, the C-Class.
The guest list comprised of Mercedes-Benz owners and employees, assorted famous faces such as MC Petra Bagust, Shortland Street star Craig Parker and Target's Brooke Howard-Smith, alongside fashion designer Trelise Cooper, whose lingerie designs were paraded by some freezing cold models midway through the night.
In these days of social reportage and the Auckland well-heeled glitterati's love of their cars, one must ask the question: does driving a C-Class make one a bit, well, C-List? You'd hope not.
HIGH POINT: Trelise Cooper's beautiful lingerie - the crowd (not to mention the photographers) were transfixed.
LOW POINT: The cold - even with heaters the size of a small jet engine, a cavernous carpark in winter does not lend itself to fancy frocks.
