KEY POINTS:
From the classic to the cutting edge, New Zealand's leading hairdressers showed off their personal styles and professional skills at Saturday night's biennial Hairdressing Awards.
Held at the Auckland Town Hall, the Schwarzkopf Professional New Zealand Hairdressing Awards featured 18 finalists competing for nine awards, including the Hairdresser of the Year and Salon Team of the Year.
Judging was by a panel of international hairdressers, and the entries remained anonymous throughout the process, ensuring all decisions were based solely on creative talent and the quality of work presented.
Highlight
Seeing a new generation of hairdressing talent come to the fore. Diana Moar, 25, of D&M Ponsonby became the youngest award winner in the competition's history, winning four awards, including Hairdresser of the Year.
Lowlight
As it picked up Hairdresser of the Year and Salon Team of the Year, we fear trying to get an appointment at D&M Ponsonby will be nigh on impossible from now.
