Emo's lazy soulful voice and the sound of dub manoeuvres from Denmark make this jazzy, downbeat outing very appealing in the late evening wine-dark hours.
Collaborators here include the excellent Les Gammas and Boozoo Bajou, but it's the slightly cheesy 70s soul tracks (such as The Real Thing) which impress as much as those like Minds Work and Get to Arms Again which come off close to Salmonella Dub-lite, or the JA soulfunk-to-lovers rock tracks (Three Words).
A couple of good late night/lazy Sunday radio singles arelurking here too should anyone care to look (notably the title track, Relief for Free and I Want My Love which is uncannily like a Gotan Project offcut).
Soul-dubbery from Denmark with an ear on the 70s. Now who would have guessed that?
