Review: Gilbert Wong
A reprint from 1997, but who cares? Roth's account of his Spandex years with Van Halen reminds us that the 80s were truly a decade without taste.
Roth shows himself to be a smart and engaging writer with so many groupie anecdotes he could fuel a series of books.
When accused by columnist Cindy Adams of paying his crew to give backstage passes to get girls, Roth replied, "Hold it right there, Cindy. Don't get your pants in a bunch. I gave the crew members with taste backstage passes."
May the 80s never come back.
