Irish beat merchant Holmes also produced the very fine music for Steven Soderbergh's previous George Clooney crime caper Out of Sight.
For Ocean's Eleven he's picked a few tracks that evoke old Vegas with the likes of Elvis, Perry Como and Percy Faith — without falling back on any tunes by Sinatra and co's Rat Pack, which was the cast of the original film.
The mix of contemporary stuff and his own score gives it both a funky swagger and chilled grooves to crack safes by.
If the album is a little heavy on the dialogue soundbites to allow it to work as its own soundscape, it still rumbles along with aplomb. Swank.
