Debut album from Brighton-based three-piece with reference points in Portishead, Lemon Jelly and others on the intelligent ambient/trip-hop axis.
Initial hook is singer Jessie Banks' warm, sensual vocals with a touch of cafe chanteuse, but the varied contexts of sampled beats and strings, dreamy piano figures and bent pop grab attention on repeat listenings.
And there will be plenty of those. Much recommended, especially if you liked Goldfrapp and GA's Vertigo.
