By MARGIE THOMSON
This is lovely. No matter that the story is rather predictable - Kate and her family visit the Rescue Centre to find the perfect dog; they find adorable little Dave, but then fat Rosy also captures their hearts with her radiating Good Intention - it's in the telling that Graham's genius comes to the fore.
His lively drawings capture the hustle and bustle of this warm-hearted but rather grungy Australian family's life with a richness it would take pages of text to achieve; and there is perfect complementarity between pictures and words.
