KEY POINTS:
Use the wrong shampoo and you're guaranteed a bad hair day. Fine hair can't handle large doses of moisture - unless flat hair was the plan - but naturally curly hair cries out for it. Oily hair needs a loving, rebalancing shampoo and if you're washing daily, a mild type is vital. Pay careful attention to the bottle or ask the hairdresser for help.

5 Eithne Curran One Shampoo
$34.95 for 200ml
Built for fine hair, this helps with texture and leaves hair light and "velvety soft". Curran is a makeup artist and developed the Pure range of hair and skin products with scientist-philanthropist Ray Avery. They created a "mild botanical cleansing system based on amino acid derivatives commonly found in hair follicles and skin cells" and left out synthetic ingredients, mineral oils, pesticides and herbicides.
A percentage from sales goes to Medicine Mondiale, a charity established by Avery that helps make medicine and medical care available in developing countries. Who knew shampoo could be such an ethical experience? And the pump - hallelujah.
