If you want a smart, modern, light read, something kind of girl-culture-ish, full of the contradictions and ridiculousness of a lightly fantasised real life, this is for you.

Jenkins was the creative brain behind the wonderful This Life television series of a couple of years ago (about twenty-somethings living, loving, doing their best and worst in London); here she bursts into print in recognisable style.

The eponymous Honeymoon is engaged to be married to fatally decent and loyal Ed, but her unresolved past (involving parents dead in an aeroplane crash, and an unrequited Love Of Her Life) looks set to bar the way to the altar. Grab it and indulge.
