12 fresh dates
12 whole almonds, toasted
3/4 cup ground almonds
1/2 cup icing sugar
1 tsp finely-grated orange zest
1 1/2 tsp orange blossom water
1 Tbs orange juice
150g dark chocolate
1/4 cup cream
1. Remove the stones from the dates to create a space to fill. Put one almond into each date.
2. Combine the ground almonds, icing sugar, zest, blossom water and juice to make a smooth paste. Put a small amount into each date.
3. Melt the chocolate and cream together in a bowl over a saucepan of simmering water, stirring until smooth. Dip each date into the chocolate, spooning a little over then carefully remove and let cool before eating.
