In this fifth instalment about the students of Spy High, the focus is on Benjamin T. Stanton jnr, the leader of the Bond team. Ben comes from a wealthy family and, up until now, he has always been the "golden boy", both at home and at school.
However, upon turning 16, Ben's life starts to unravel. His marks are slipping and there is a real danger that he may get kicked out of Spy High for poor academic performance. Then he and the Bond team become involved in the investigation of a sinister cult and Ben discovers that his charismatic uncle may well be the cult leader.
Fans of the Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz will also enjoy the Spy High series. Butcher's books are not written just with boys in mind as there are a number of talented, capable female agents at Spy High.
