Tigger is a bounding 18-month-old Staffi cross, looking for a family with older children. She is very smart and already knows her basic commands.
She came to the SPCA in November, when her owners moved overseas.
Her new family will need to continue her training and have time to spare for exercise and play.
SPCA chief executive Bob Kerridge stresses the need to ensure pets have plenty of water and are not left in cars.
"We have a huge number of cases where dogs are close to death or die after being left in cars, even for short periods."
