Husband-to-be's wisdom tooth made into wedding ring

Forget diamonds, this bride-to-be was delighted to be proposed to with a ring encasing her future husband's wisdom tooth.

Carlee Alisan Leifkes posted an image of her engagement ring to Facebook this week announcing how "incredibly excited" she is to be marrying her "best friend, the man who knows that his wisdom tooth means more to me than a diamond".

She added that she couldn't wait to "be a weirdo" with her husband-to-be, Lucas Mancoon-Unger, who she met at a music festival earlier this year.

Friends offered their congratulations to the California couple who got engaged on Halloween.

One commented: "That's just cool as hell". Another posted, "...why be square when you can be any shape you want".

The couple came up with the concept together and, according to BuzzFeed, had Unger's dad send the tooth from Canada, which his son had had removed when he was younger.

They then took the tooth to a jeweller to see if he could create something unique.

Unger kept the finished ring hidden from his now-fiancé until Halloween when he surprised her by proposing in front of her family.

Leifkes told BuzzFeed the pair will marry next month in Las Vegas. ""I'm going to have a cast, a wisdom tooth ring, a pink dress, and Elvis is going to marry us!"
