Spending too long on Twitter makes you more likely to break up with your partner, a study claims.
Excessive use of the microblogging site could lead to rows, cheating and even divorce, researchers found.
Even relatively new couples are likely to argue if one of them pays more attention to Twitter than to their partner.
It suggests celebrity break-ups could be due more to excessive tweeting than personal differences. When prolific Twitter users Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore divorced last year, both used the social media website to defend themselves.
Russell Clayton, a journalism student at the University of Missouri, questioned 581 people aged 18 to 67, and found a direct link between levels of Twitter use and the likelihood of arguments.
