Contemporary version of an old Hollywood favourite, the mix of music and dancing teenagers that can trace its ancestry back through Flashdance, American Graffiti and the Elvis movies.
Jessica Alba is dance teacher Honey Daniels, who gets a break in music videos and must choose between her "career" and her family and friends.
Cameos from Mekhi Phifer as her boyfriend and hip-hoppers Tweet, Ludacris, Missy Elliott, are chiefly there to help the merchandising department sell the soundtrack CD. It all ends heartwarming and happy, with a full-on dance production.
