Anyone who loves vintage machines and history should head north at Labour Weekend.
On Saturday October 21, Matthews Vintage Collection at Taipa features restored vintage cars, tractors, stationary engines, farm and domestic memorabilia, plus moa bones, kauri gum, pianolas and much more.
The following day a "live day" will be held at Whangarei Museum & Heritage Park.
You can take a ride on a model railway, a large steam train or an antique fire engine, watch the bullock team working the sled - and maybe even go for a ride.
The kiwi house will also be open.
