Review: Peter Eley
If you enjoyed Commandos, Hidden and Dangerous is for you.
Rather than the big-picture war game, it concentrates on small missions where cunning and concentration matter far more than strategic overview.
It's set during 1941 at the height of the Second World War. Your four-man squad has been shot down in German territory and you have to get back to England through Nazi-infested Europe.
There are 23 missions with varying degrees of difficulty - some of the later ones are very, very tough and require split-second coordination between your squad members.
The graphics are generally excellent. As the landscapes are small-scale, units can be large and at times you really feel as though they are real soldiers.
There are some minor flaws such as object overlapping. The mapping system could also be improved as sometimes it is hard to remember where other squad members are - with fatal consequences.
Required: Pentium 166, 3D card. Optimal: Pentium 266.
