Supermodel Heidi Klum has doled out healthy eating tips to the models who will be working at next week's Rosemount Australian Fashion Week.
In an interview with Australia's Sunday Telegraph Klum - host of US reality television series Project Runway - urged the models not to starve themselves but to eat healthily.
"In many cases, the girls (on Project Runway) eat garbage - things like pancakes and waffles and a lot of junk - which is not going to help them," she said.
""You'd hardly see any of them eating vegetables or salads. Not even an apple.
"It was kind of shocking."
German-born Klum, whose star has been in the ascendant since becoming a Victoria's Secret model in the 90s, added that models need a lot of energy to cope with the rigours of the lifestyles they lead.
"You won't last if you're not eating healthily."
Rosemount Australian Fashion Week starts on Monday and will showcase fashions for the 2009/10 spring and summer seasons.
Designers from across Asia and the Pacific will present their collections at the Overseas Passenger Terminal in Sydney.
