Hambags add style to tasty Xmas tucker

Otis Frizzell's striking artworks adorn numerous canvases and walls around the country.

And now Frizzell's latest works are set to make their presence felt in fridges around New Zealand.

Frizzell - a former chart-topping musician who now operates The Lucky Taco food truck with his wife, Sarah - has teamed up with PAK'nSAVE to produce a limited edition designer Hambag to store the Christmas staple over the festive season.

The limited edition bags, which feature a Frizzell design and his signature, are available at PAK'nSAVE stores nationwide for customers who buy their ham in store.

An estimated 80 per cent of New Zealanders eat ham on Christmas Day, with the vast majority ending up with leftovers.

"Knowing that most Kiwis take days to eat their Christmas hams, it's a good idea to try to lock in the flavour and keep it as tasty as possible - there's nothing worse than a dry ham. There are loads of delicious ways you can use leftovers but you need to keep your ham as moist as possible - ham bags are the way to go," said Emily Blumenthal, Foodstuffs New Zealand head of customer marketing and insights.
