Bee stings might be something most of us avoid, but for Gwyneth Paltrow, it's all part of her beauty regime.
The actress, who is almost as well-known for her penchant for weird health remedies as she is for her film roles, says she lets bees sting her face as an anti-ageing treatment.
"It's a thousands of years old treatment called apitherapy," she told The New York Times. "People use it to get rid of inflammation and scarring. It's actually pretty incredible if you research it. But, man, it's painful."
She's hit the headlines in the past for her alternative beauty therapies, including cupping - an ancient form of medicine involving suctioning sections of skin, and vagina facials, where a steaming device is used to help the nether regions "glow".
Gwyneth's website, Goop, includes dire warnings about everyday things like sunscreen and bras, while singing the praises of pricey health cleanses and diet trends.
