A selfie-taking driver was threatened with a "wedding present" of six penalty points and a £200 ($364) fine after the reflection in his sunglasses showed him to be behind the wheel.
The photo was shared from a Twitter account under the name Pete Hemsley and the handle @geordie_aviator with the caption: "Last night as a single man. Married man as of tomorrow. Can't wait to marry my princess @geordieprincess so beautiful".
But, the dedication to his fiancee backfired, as the reflection in his sunglasses appeared to show that the photo he had just taken had been done so while he was on a busy dual carriageway, according to Daily Mail.
Another eagle eyed user of the social media site, Matthew Clements, flagged up his Tweet, saying that "people like this end up destroying lives through their own stupidity."
