A painting of singer Sinead O’Connor in the nude made 15,000 euro ($27,500) at an auction in Dublin. The painting was originally destined to hang in a Dublin nightclub but was bought by the singer then put up for sale. Called Strange Days, it shows her reclining on a purple sheet, wearing only a necklace and stockings, her face reflected in a mirror. The artist was Irishman Jim Fitzpatrick, who was responsible for the iconic monochrome picture of the revolutionary Che Guevara. Fitzpatrick is a friend of the controversial O’Connor, who has announced a comeback.
