A world-record attempt at creating the world's biggest wardrobe begins today as part of three days of fashion and fun at Girls' Day Out.
Clothing, beauty and fitness products and services will be on display among 175 stalls at the ASB Showgrounds in Greenlane until Sunday.
The event will feature demonstrations, including a do-it-yourself section with 30-second challenges aiming to teach women not to be afraid of power tools.
Visitors are encouraged to bring along items of old clothing to support the charity Dress for Success in an attempt to create the world's largest wardrobe.
Dress For Success promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women as they enter the workforce by providing them with the right clothing to get their foot in the door.
The event will feature the LG World's Fastest Texter Competition on Sunday.
Exhibitor Luke Thompson of underwear brand Berlei spent yesterday setting up one of several stalls.
He said research showed that as many as two-thirds of women wore the wrong-sized bra and the stall's aim was to fit women correctly.
