Jean Paul Gaultier is to be honoured for his fashion work.
The Lycee Francais de New York (LFNY) school has decided to recognise Gaultier at their annual gala at the Park Avenue Armoury in March with an award for his outstanding contribution to fashion.
The designer will receive the Charles de Ferry de Fontnouvelle Award which was named after the founder of the school.
The award is given to individuals whose accomplishments resonate with the Lycee's own personal mission to provide an education that both encourages and respects diversity between people and cultures.
"As an inspirational leader in the arts, Mr Gaultier is internationally recognised as one of the most influential and innovative fashion designers of our time," the LFNY said on their website.
