When you think of the Psychedelic Furs many of you, if you're old enough, will think of actress Molly Ringwald. It was, after all, the band's song Pretty In Pink that inspired the teenage angst movie of the same name in 1986.
But the Furs were no one-hit wonder. Late 70s and early 80s tracks like Imitation of Christ, Love My Way, and Ghost In You, would have been reasonably formative songs for that time.
The good news is the band are back together after a 10-year lay-off and play the St James Theatre, Auckland, on June 21.
Formed by brothers Richard and Tim Butler in London during 1977, the pair are the only original members in the group but since Richard is the songwriter, then we guess that's okay.
Meanwhile, for something a little more nasty check out American sleaze rockers Nashville Pussy, fronted by the hard rockin' and hard livin' husband and wife team of Blaine Cartwright and Ruyter Suys.
Warning, this will not be for the faint-hearted but it will be a hell of a good time.
They play the Kings Arms, Auckland, May 25, Indigo, Wellington May 26 and the Esplanade, Christchurch, May 27.
