Ooh, goodie, there's nothing like watching a make-over. Hang on - since when did models need make-overs? Unless you hack off their hair, bleach their eyelashes and make them cry. That would make for an entertaining, if green-eyed, episode.

Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner's onscreen pairing was intended to rival that of Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn. This classic adventure yarn has Turner as a novelist stranded in a jungle, who finds help in the form of mercenary Jack Colton (Douglas). Easy and entertaining. (1984)

THE GORGON

Classic Hammer horror about a female monster so gruesome that all who gaze on her are turned to stone. Peter Cushing plays a local doctor and Christopher Lee is an academic sent to investigate. There was no CGI back then; Patricia Hyman's snake wig was worked by wires, controlled from a box behind her. (1965)
