No! Stop! Down! No, we're not talking to your dog - we're talking to you. If you're a good dog owner, we'll never catch you doing any of these things:
Don't leave them alone in a car
Even when the weather is cool and even with the window down - don't be silly. No dog should be left alone in the car. This rule is so universal it even inspired an indie band name.
Don't give them the wrong food
Ah, the most innocent mistake of all doting dog owners. You might think a piece of food off your dinner plate is harmless but what if it's not? Make sure you know what you're feeding your dog and if they can properly digest it. If you don't do your research, the results could be fatal.
Don't ever hit them
Even if it's just a light newspaper to the nose, physical punishment for bad behaviour will only breed worse behaviour from your pet. Take the time to train them properly, and respect them enough to tell them off properly - and without hurting them - too.
Don't forget about their teeth
Dogs need dentists too...Many dogs are at risk of nasty tooth infections or even suffer tooth and gum diseases that often go untreated. Don't let your canine companion suffer in silence - brush their teeth and take them to the vet for check-ups regularly. (It might also make their breath a little less pungent.)
