By RAY GALVIN
Long into the evening, Ryan tried website after website. There was still nothing about cows, nothing at all. And, all the time, Ryan was thinking of the soccer game. The finals! He mustn't miss them!
It was late, and he was getting more and more sleepy. Dad had poked his head into the study and said goodnight. Ryan logged off the internet and lay down on the couch for a rest. He'd get back to it as soon as his strength returned. Two minutes later, he was fast asleep.
Chapter Two The Dream
What a colourful dream it was! He was flying through the air in his soccer uniform, looking down over a lush green meadow, with little clumps of trees, thousands of wildflowers, and a few white and brown stone buildings.
Whee, squish! He made a soft landing on the thick, green grass. The sun was shining and he could hear the lazy buzzing of bees and insects. An old, white-bearded man wearing a long robe and carrying a staff was smiling at him as he gazed up from his landing place.
