Nuclear holocaust survivors, superheroes and quick-witted legal types will culminate together on TV3 next year, as part of next year's 2007 line up.
At an event launch in Auckland's Britomart precinct last night, TV3 programme director Kelly Martin announced Heroes, Jericho and Shark as her picks for 2007's top shows.
While next year's line up comprises a number of new shows, Martin promised the return of several popular series from this year.
"If it worked in 2006, it will be back in the time slot, on the same day, in 2007… If it ain't broke, we won't be fixing it," Martin said.
Local favourites bro'Town and Outrageous Fortune are set to return next year, alongside top American series' House, Boston Legal, CSI (all three versions), Prison Break and 24.
Australian funny man Rove McManus can still call TV3 home, as can perennial favourites The Simpsons – entering their 18th season.
New shows to the channel include The Office (US version), The Black Donnellys – a New York-based drama about four Irish brothers and their involvement in organised crime – and Raines, starring Jeff Goldblum as an eccentric LAPD detective.
Next year will also see the return of exclusive sport to TV3, as the channel has secured rights to IRB Rugby World Cup and motorsports' A1 Grand Prix.
Several blockbuster movies will make their free-to-air television debuts on TV3 next year, including King Kong, Kingdom of Heaven, Ray and the 40-Year-Old Virgin.
