There's only one thing better than knocking James Blunt and Il Divo off the top of the album charts, and that's when it's a local act who does it.
This week Fat Freddy's Drop went back to No 1 and the band's album, Based On A True Story, has now sold more than 50,000 copies.
It debuted at No 1 when it was released in May, spent 29 weeks in the charts, and has been a constant in the top 10 most of that time. The reason for the album's resurgence can be put down to single Wandering Eye getting airplay on mainstream radio networks that included ZM, The Edge, and Mai FM. It is understood that even MORE FM has been playing the track.
A CD single of Wandering Eye will be released in the coming weeks, featuring three versions of the track, including a live recording that the band calls the Italian Reprise.
