Fashionista wins big at Diamond Day

It's been an amazing week for one fashionista who left Diamond Day at Ellerslie with a three-month lease on a BMW 3 Series Sedan - the second major prize she's won in a week.

Johanna Neuhauser was selected as one of the top nine dressers at yesterday's event.

Along with the other eight fashionable race-goers, she then picked a number out of a hat to a corresponding horse running in the hotly-contested Group 1 Haunui Farm Diamond Stakes.

Her good fortune continued when she drew Dal Cielo, who won the race and earned Neuhauser an ultimate BMW ticket to ride.

The 22-year-old, who wore an Asos dress and a hat made by her mother Monika, said she was overwhelmed by her winning ways.

"I feel so lucky," she said. "The race days are always a fun day out with my girlfriends and my mum makes all my hats. Winning is a bonus."

Neuhauser, an applied sciences student at Unitec, said the car would be "a major upgrade" from the Toyota Corsa she drove.

Last Saturday, Neuhauser was the winner of the Viva Prix de Fashion Daily award on Derby Day at Ellerslie, winning a diamond collection valued at $15,000 and a spot in the Viva Prix de Fashion competition featuring winners of nationwide Fashion in the Field competitions.

The Viva Prix de Fashion was won by Auckland's Charlotte Moor.
