Behind the scenes of Rosemount Australian Fashion Week with Mac senior make up artist Amber Dreadon.
KEY POINTS:
THURSDAY: I know I go on about the early starts to the day here at fashion week but today really was another boomer!
After waking at 4.45am - coincidently the exact time that my taxi was to arrive - I headed back to Sydney from an amazing night working in Adelaide with MAC VIVA GLAM spokesperson Eve.
I managed a couple of hours' rest before the MAC team convoyed to Fox studios for the Grazia Australia magazine launch.
The catwalk show was made up of 3 designers - Ksubi, Josh Goot and Tina Kalivas who, all had their own models which meant 30 female models and a handful of male models to get done and three different looks!
MAC makeup director for the show, Gordon Espinet designed three very different looks.
For Ksubi the look was all about the eyes with MAC Nehru, Jewel Blue and Electric Eel eyeshadows layered over each other in the crease of the eye to create a denim-like shade that's shape was the love-child of a 60s eye and a sexy winged out eye.
Josh Goot loves no makeup makeup ... so the faces for his models were perfected using a few shades of MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation, giving it a beyond matte finish when paired with MAC Mineralize Natural Powder.
The makeup for Tina Kalivas was also all about the eye - and I ended up doing a couple of models for this look.
Blacktrack Fluidline was painted over the whole eye from lashline to over the eyebrows and a layer of black gloss was painted over the top to create an eye that looked like a well outlined oil slick.
The show ran almost on time - which seems to be becoming rarer as the week gets on ... models walked on a raised catwalk that became visible only after screens that had been used to project a video about the magazine fell to the ground.
Today was a bit of a blur but after going to bed early I know that my hectic final day of fashion week will be much easier with a full night's sleep ... Where has the week gone?
