KEY POINTS:
WEDNESDAY: It's day three of Rosemount Australian Fashion Week and my days have definitely begun to blur into one, although I suspect that today will be a day I won't forget in a hurry.
Today the MAC makeup team for the Wool Protege show met at a makeup-artist friendly 9am to work on a group show of sorts - with 4 designers from various countries who have been mentored by big fashion names from Donatella Versace to Australian Vogue's Kirsty Clements.
The makeup direction was simple: as it's a group of designers it has to work for all of their looks so we went for simply flawless skin.
Backstage favorite MAC Face and Body Foundation was used minimally to even skin tone without covering it too much and followed by my must-have at almost every show - MAC Mineralize Natural Powder to matte the skin without making it flat or powdery.
Admittedly the models all have the most dreamy skin. No pores to be seen and rarely a blemish - the only real spot I had to cover today was on one girl who had a minor injury involving a zip, a dress and her nose... Luckily with a quick swoop of my #194 concealer brush and MAC Select Cover Up Concealer it had disappeared in an instant!
Eyes were washed with MAC Groundwork Paint - a sheer beige cream that looks like eyeshadow but won't crease; and lashes were only lightly touched with the wand of MAC Plushlash in Brownette.
The look was completed with MAC Peachstock Lipstick pressed onto the lips with our fingertips (sanitised within an inch of our lives) to make them look as though the mix of peach and fleshy beige had always been there.
After directing the amazing MAC makeup team that was working outrageously efficiently on the show as to what their responsibilities were when the models were in line up (this is when all models are dressed and waiting in line for the show to begin), I rushed from the show before it had begun and had to jump in one of Sydney's seemingly endless stream of cabs.
A race to Sydney airport followed, where I caught a flight to Adelaide. Now I'm sitting in a hotel foyer waiting to meet Eve.
Tonight the rapper and MAC VIVA GLAM spokesperson is performing a concert here and I'm doing her makeup for it... armed with false lashes and a lot of VIVA GLAM Lipglass I am excited beyond belief and can't believe I am so lucky to work for MAC.
Everyday is different and making people look beautiful whether it's for the catwalk or real life is is so rewarding and also the perfect way for me to create works of art daily - only the canvas almost always gets up and leaves!
I have a 6am flight back to Sydney in the morning so I'll be there in time to work on the Grazia show! Love those early mornings!
