I'm already a sucker for tartan but with a name like Leigh Matheson it's pretty obvious I'm of Scottish heritage, so here are some of my favourite selections from our local designers to whet your appetite.
Be pretty as a picture in Ingrid Starnes' Lou dress with its abstract check and gorgeous colour. Carlson's jacket and skirt combination is beautifully tailored in a MacIntosh tartan, and owning the bright and bold colourways are Charmaine Reveley's collarless coat and and Pardon My French's simple draped dress. For a traditional-style tartan in a classic skirt, see Sheryl May's Folkin Tart skirt and for a truly useful jacket that skims the hips, try Company of Strangers.
For a straight-up fashion moment you can't beat ITMZE's Structured Union blazer and Madonna wide trouser for its understated elegant take on menswear tailoring. It's already on my must-buy list.
Check out The Line Up for some fabulous garments - I love the bold classic check of Blak Love's Silence Bomber, and the divine lurex check of Vaughan Geeson's Pier dress. And the cherry on top is the amazing print brocade textile which was the embryo for WORLD's collection - seen here in the Cubism jacket and matching trouser. Checkmate!
