Contrasting tailored pieces with more casual classics is a failsafe way to play around with high and low dressing this season - from dress shoes worn with blue jeans to tailored suiting worn with a chambray shirt. It's the type of look that sits comfortably with most busy men who prefer their wardrobe to be uncomplicated and versatile. While sportswear's infiltration into everyday fashion is stronger than ever ("athleisure" looks set to be one this year's biggest-selling fashion categories for both sexes), the key here is to still look sharp.
Outerwear options for men this season have a slight retro feel, such as boxy jackets and coats. The Zambesi "Classic Coat" (#1) comes in a vibrant shade of blue (as well as black).
It's the type of easy, throw-on coat that requires little thinking about what to wear every day.
Old-school sneakers have also seen a revival from the likes of Adidas re-releasing its Stan Smith trainers, the world's first leather tennis shoe that debuted in 1971, along with a multicoloured array of newly released Superstar sneakers in collaboration with Pharrell Williams. Other footwear brands such as Le Coq Sportif, Puma and New Balance have also seen more interest in their older sneaker models, with designers such as Isabel Marant and Phoebe Philo for Celine creating their own take on the minimalist sneaker. These shoes provide a clean-cut finish to tailored separates without looking fussy - providing the perfect solution to avoiding feeling over or underdressed.
