These clothes are not for exercising in. This is all about streetwear classics with that sportswear edge. You can expect to see grey marle, striped accents, rib detailing, neoprene and mesh feature heavily, along with collegiate style and menswear influences.
Grey marle is an old favourite for sportswear - Andrea Moore uses this cleverly in these two pieces from her I AM diffusion line. For a more loose interpretation, try this look from Blak Love, mixing and matching sportswear with tailoring. And on the cheap and cheerful tip, check out online store Boohoo's take on the trend.
For a quick study in the art of layering you can't beat X-Plain. This pairing of a jacket, jumper and legging is fabulous. I squealed with delight when I saw these pop art-inspired textiles on the COOP catwalk at Fashion Week last year - my favourite pieces are the Rappers Delight Bomber and Sin Slinky Skirt.
Playing with menswear influences also features in this trend. Hideseekers' Schooled Sweat with its oversized v-neck worn with its Getaway Leather Trackpant is the business and on my must-buy list. The boyish yet feminine debut collection from ITZME has many wonderful pieces, including the sweatshirt and dress combo.
