When I was working with my Dad, at Keith Matheson, we always produced a significant number of faux fur pieces in our winter collections. It was one of our trademarks. Textile manufacture technology has come so far that we became faux fur designer magicians, sourcing pile fabrics from Europe that could fool you, even when you touched it, into thinking it was real. Fur is one of the oldest known forms of clothing but with these developments the options are endless and faux fur is a winter staple here to stay.
Let's start with WORLD's stunning Descartes coat; a full-length black and white striped coat that is worthy of both the red carpet and one hell of a fashion moment. An alternative on the fur coat front is Trelise Cooper's My Fur Lady coat which sits above the knee with a sleek silhouette and in a beautiful pale mint.
The cropped jacket is trending strongly this winter. Goodness' cropped jacket is in a gorgeous dark blue long pile. From Kate Sylvester is her Tina jacket which is cropped with 3/4 sleeves in an on-point khaki colourway. And you will stand out in Andrea Moore's bold striped bomber style Polar Pop jacket.
For a little fur trim I love Country Road's faux fur trim parka, one of this seasons
must-buy styles, and Seed's buckle vest which teams exposed silver hardware with a faux
fur collar.
