Cheers to that
Chambord is a premium black raspberry liqueur with a rather fine French heritage, and the official drink of NZFF. According to legend, Chambord was inspired by a luxurious raspberry liqueur produced for King Louis XIV during his visit to Chateau Chambord in the 17th century. Today, Chambord continues to inspire cocktail and culinary creations around the world including the Chambord French Martini, which is our pick for the week.
Chambord French Martini
45ml Finlandia Vodka
15ml Chambord Black
Raspberry Liqueur
30ml Pineapple Juice
Shake ingredients with ice and strain and pour into a martini glass. Garnish with raspberries.

The Designer Garage Sale
Every year at New Zealand Fashion Week the Designer Garage Sale is one of the hottest tickets in town, with good reason. This month it will be returning to the NZFF as well, taking place over the weekend of March 27-28 in Shed 6. There will be scores of bargains to be had, with designer names signed up so far including Sabatini, Chaos & Harmony, WesC, Stolen Girlfriends Club, Kathryn Wilson and Turet Knuefermann. Go to nzfashionfestival.com to see more names as they come to hand.
The search is on
Working backstage at NZFF will be the eight finalists in TRESemme's national search for New Zealand's next top stylist, called the TRESemme Dream Team.
The global hair giant is then offering the stand-out stylist from the bunch an exclusive opportunity to work with the brand on a 12-month contract, as well as play a role in a Next magazine makeover.
TRESemme Dream Team judge, NZFF magazine editor and beauty writer Helene Ravlich says the New Zealand Fashion Festival is fast gaining recognition as one of the hottest events to hit Auckland, showcasing the country's best creative talent, and the hair-styling team is no exception.
It's time to give the unsung Kiwi hair-heroes a chance at the big time, and placing them alongside cutting edge designers provides an ideal platform to shine from, she says.
Ravlich is joined on the judging panel by creative director Dan Awha, ACP Media's fashion and beauty director Trudi Brewer and TRESemme group brand manager Rachel Beattie, with all decisions carefully guided by Eithne Curran who is managing the TRESemme Dream Team on-site.
There is no doubt the Dream Team wannabes will be scrutinised in this process, says TRESemme's Rachel Beattie.
"We are a professional company and we have to expect 200 per cent of somebody who will potentially represent the brand in New Zealand long-term." The heat is on.

Key looks for winter from NZFF hair partner, TRESemme
This year's NZFF has TRESemme as its official hair sponsor, and the global brand has assembled a team of crack stylists to work on the runway looks for the event's nightly shows. Here they give us their picks for winter 2011, and how to achieve them.
Braids
Braids are a huge trend this season, and a fishtail braid is versatile and easy. Try a side-swept fishtail braid starting from below the ears, or the crown of the head. For a more elegant look, try working two fishtails from the crown around behind the ears and finish with a bun at the nape of the neck. For a more relaxed casual look, braid a small section of hair and leave the rest loose with soft flowing volume.
How to: Use TRESemme No Frizz Creme in the hair first to give you a little bit of control while braiding. Work it through the length.
Start with two strands, take a section of hair from the inside and start wrapping it into a figure 8, ensuring you keep the tension tight.
When you run out of hair take another section from the inside and start wrapping. Continue until you run out of hair or reach the end, then fasten with an elastic band.
Finish with TRESemme Salon Finish Hairspray to keep the look in place.
The up-do
The high pony and high bun will also be a classic look for this winter, with the high pony being a look that can take you from day to night with ease.
How to: To create slight volume and texture, start by applying TRESemme Dry Shampoo to dry hair. Brush out completely.
Using a round boar bristle brush, pull hair back into a high ponytail.
Wrap the ponytail around the base and pin into place.
Smooth a 10c-size amount of TRESemme No Frizz Creme over the style to add shine and keep frizz at bay and finish with the TRESemme 24 Hour Body Finishing Spray to hold this style in place all day.
