Fashion junkies will soon have another reason to celebrate with the launch of the Auckland Autumn Fashion Festival early next year.
The festival is the creation of Fashion Week's founder Pieter Stewart and her daughter, brand manager Myken Stewart.
"Basically it's the opposite of Fashion Week," said Myken Stewart.
"It's inclusive rather than exclusive, anyone can get involved."
The festival is based on similar successful events run overseas and is a chance for the public to catch a glimpse of the coming season's trends.
"The designers are keen to keep Fashion Week exclusive and this is the alternative."
It will be aimed purely at consumers and will include exhibits, seminars, a garage sale and runway shows.
She said there would be one main show each night and it would grow from there.
They have already received a lot of interest from designers and sponsors and are on the hunt for a large venue.
The organisers plan to launch the Festival in March 2010 off the back of Auckland Cup Week.
