Just when you thought teen comedy couldn't get any lamer, less tasteful, more offensive, here comes Eurotrip, which was to be called Ugly Americans until the producers realised that would have meant they'd have had to re-brand it as a factual documentary.
Scott Thomas (Scott Mechlowicz) is a US student dumped by his girlfriend, Fiona (Kristin Kreuk, Smallville) on graduation day. He emails his German penpal, Mieke, who he has never realised is not a Mike at all. When he finds that she's a girl, he heads to Europe with his best friend Cooper (Jacob Pitts), to find her.
They hook up with twins, Jamie (Travis Wester, Beverly Hills 90210) and Jenny (Michelle Trachtenberg, Buffy), and head for London (cue: Vinnie Jones and soccer thugs); Paris (cue: Marcel Marceau cut-outs) Amsterdam (cue: hash cookies and Lucy Lawless as a dominatrix) and Berlin (cue: you may have trouble believing that even an American teen comedy could stoop this low: fake Hitler moustaches and goose-stepping). Did I leave out the sleazy Italian guy?
The DVD contains deleted scenes, a downbeat alternate ending, several commentary tracks, music videos, a bootleg version of the movie, and the entire script.
